As summer approaches, many families will head to the pool or beach to cool off and have fun. However, it is important to remember that water can be dangerous, especially for children. Here are seven swim safety tips for kids:

1 Teach your children to swim as early as possible and ensure that they always have adult supervision while swimming.

2. Invest in proper fitting life jackets for young children, particularly if they are not strong swimmers.

3. Teach your kids to stay away from pool drains and other hazards like diving boards and slides.

4. Remind children to always enter the water feet first to prevent head and spinal injuries.
